Wind Tunnel testing of the MotoCzysz 07 C1 990 turned out extremely promising results. The body lines of the C1 proved to be a very functional form. The initial test utilized dozens of sensors and consisted of over 30 high speed runs as well as testing other manufactures bikes to set a baseline for comparison. The tests showed the C1 to be as aerodynamically efficient as the best 600cc while providing cooling to the radiator area twice the size and better wind protection for the rider. This is where the narrowness of the engine proved its true value- allowing air to flow through the fairing past the engine, while cooling the exhaust headers. The C1 had an incredibly small draft zone as the air stream exiting the rear radiator filled in and reduced the low pressure zone directly behind the bike- something not seen in the tests of any of the other manufactures bikes.

“I saw areas were we can make improvements but our bike currently is very aerodynamic right out of the box. As the speed increases above our test parameters this will become even a greater asset. I am confident that the aerodynamic benefit of turning the engine 90 degrees more than compensates for the loss due to the added bevel gear- resulting in an overall performance gain of our package” Michael Czysz.
