The effects of Global Warming is getting much stronger these days. We should concentrate more on alternative energy to reduce carbon emissions.

I like the electric aproach for the race bike, but it would probably be unrealistic for a street bike as there would not be a battery replacement station set up every 50-100 miles, a 250cc street bike gets around 75 mpg and cruise's at 70 mph and it can readily be refueled and cost less than 5K, I would love to see alternatives to fossil fueled vehicles.
But I think only Bono and a few other well off folk's could even think about buying these super prototypes, a bike has to be practical and affordable to be successful, range I'm sure you know, is the real problem here, my 1980 Yamaha XS1100LG did the 1/4 mile in 11.84 seconds in 1980 (Not with me riding it!) gets about 32 mpg and can go about 140 miles before I need refueling (It's a gas hog for a bike) currently it's easy to get gas, it is comfy/sporty and very fast! faster than I really need to go on the road, no new bike compares with it, all there is now are $17K Harley wanna be's and dedicated baggers and all out sport bikes, somebody please make a modern American sport cruiser!!
I like that Polaris came up with a real nice Harley clone to add "Some" competition to Harley, but they did what the Japanease companies did, built a clone, nothing original, as for Indian, they made a bike any guy with a torch and $15K could build in his garage and they wanted $30K for them, I test road the "Chief" easily the biggest P.O.S. I had ever ridden and they wanted almost $40K for it!!

I really feel it is important for an American motorcycle to be modern and state of the art, honestly japanese bikes peaked out in the early 80's tech wise, race bikes excluded, but I really miss the sport cruisers (XS1100, LTD ect.) I ride a 30 year old bike simply because there is no replacement currently available, everything is a regressed Harley clone or an actual obsoleat Harley (V-twins were the cat's pajama's back in 1958), I compare them with model T's, I respect what they stand for, don't wan't to drive/ride them, asside from the rapidly aging Harley cult followship, there is no market for these dinosours (they sure are pretty tho) American product's need to lead techwise, not ride on past success!

This internet site is actually quite good, but for some reason it does not display properly when trying to view on my Nintendo Wii. If it helps, the console uses the Opera web browser and am forced to using the console for accessing the Net whilst my PC is away being restored.

Good point made above...

Michael, what are your thoughts on the use of a slipper-type clutch as there seems to be much less 'engine-braking' compared to an internal combustion motor?

Good fortunes indeed.

Keep it up.
I thought I would never like anything trying to be sporty that didn't have a Internal Combustion Engine. I've changed my mind completely from your bike.

Michael, I've been following this since the beginning, congrats on your efforts and I wish you good fortunes. I'm interested in why some sort of transmission is not used? A 100 lb/ft electric motor hooked to a simple two speed of even better a CVT would eliminate the need for multiple motors. Looking forward to getting more technical details.

Keep up the great work!
